units and standards
Science of measurement is an integral part of the science of physics.Mostly measuring instruments used now in principle the same as the conventional measuring instruments.
To set the value of a quantity that can be measured, must be known value, and unit number.
Understanding of this is p enting and must be known and agreed upon by the technicians among the Gentiles because by looking at the unit it can be seen a wide scale in the measuring instrument.
There are two systems C.G.S. used is C.G.S. electrostatic and C.G.S. Electrodynamic (Centimeter, Gram, Second). system this unit formed a commission of international standards.
Unit system C.G.S. and Practical Unit
Practical units are often used in measurements of electrical quantities are:
- Electrical current (I) = Amperes (A)
- Voltage (V) = Volts (V)
- Resistance (R) = Ohm (W)
- Pseudo power (S) = voltamperes (VA)
- Real power (P) = Watt (W)
- Reactive power (Q) = voltamperes reactive (VAR)
- Inductance (L) = Henry (H)
- Capacitance (C) = Farad (F)
- Electrostatic Discharge (Q) = Coulomb (C)
M.K.S .Unit System (Meter,Kilogram,Second):
- Power = watts
- Strong current = amperes
- Voltage = volts
- Area = m2
- Volume = m3
- Speed = m / sec
- Style = newton
- Work, Energy = joule
Thus article about the units and measuring. we as technicians need to know about the international standard units that have been created to guide us in measuring and what units are in use, although in all countries have their respective units such as Indonesia (SNI), Japan ( JIS) and so forth.
